Errata and Corrigendum

ARTICLE RETRACTION, WITHDRAWAL, AND CORRECTION POLICY

The Afro-Asian Journal of Law and Governance reserves the right to retract, withdraw, correct, or issue an expression of concern in relation to submitted or published articles where substantial ethical, legal, academic, or scholarly concerns arise.

Grounds for Retraction

Retraction may be entertained when:

  1. There is clear evidence of duplication or redundancy of publication;
  2. Evidence of fabrication and/or falsification of data, evidence or results;
  3. There are significant research or publication ethics issues;
  4. There are unresolved authorship controversies;
  5. Evidence of fraud or manipulation of peer review process;
  6. Published findings which have since proven to be unreliable; or
  7. Other serious acts of academic/publishing misconduct.

Withdrawing Manuscripts

A request for withdrawal of an already-submitted manuscript may be made before it is accepted by sending a written request with proper justification to the Editorial Office. The Journal may also withdraw a manuscript during the editorial or peer-review process whenever significant ethical, legal, authorship, or academic issues are found.

If a manuscript has already been formally accepted or published, then such a request for withdrawal may be subjected to further review and consideration based on the Journal’s principles of publication ethics.

Corrections and Errata

Minor errors that do not materially affect the validity, interpretation, or scholarly contribution of a published article may be corrected through a formal correction notice or erratum.

Where a correction is necessary, the Journal will seek to ensure that the correction is clearly identified and appropriately linked to the original publication.

Retraction Notices

Retraction notices will be, when applicable:

  1. Identifying clearly the retracted article;
  2. Providing the reason or reasons for the retraction;
  3. Permanently linked to the retracted article;
  4. Distinguishing clearly the retraction notice from the original article; and
  5. Protecting the integrity of the scholarly record.

The Journal will deal with corrections, expressions of concerns, withdrawals and retractions according to internationally accepted standards for responsible scholarly publication.
