Authors' Guidelines

Afro-Asian Journal of Law and Governance published by Prime Crest Publisher is committed to upholding the highest possible standards in terms of publication ethics and integrity. Editors, members of the editorial board, peer reviewers, and authors are supposed to observe the standards of transparency, integrity, fairness, confidentiality, accountability and responsible research reporting during the entire process of publication of the journal. The Afro-Asian Journal of Law and Governance observes best practices in scholarly publishing and takes measures to address any issues related to ethical practices promptly and openly. These issues may include plagiarism, double or multiple submission, scientific fraud, unethical research practices, data fabrication and falsification, unethical peer review practices among others. When such an issue comes to attention of the Journal, an appropriate investigation will be undertaken and corrective measures will be taken. Such measures will include rejection of the manuscript, issuing of correction or retraction notices and other measures deemed necessary.

EDITORIAL GUIDELINES

The Afro-Asian Journal of Law and Governance invites scholarly articles on cutting-edge issues in law, governance, public policy, human rights, international law, technology law, environmental law, socio-legal studies, and interdisciplinary legal scholarship. In particular, the Journal seeks scholarly articles dealing with legal and governance challenges in Africa and Asia, as well as comparative and transnational studies that deepen our knowledge of Afro-Asian legal orders, institutions, policies, and societies. Global comparative perspectives, when relevant and useful for the development of legal scholarship, are also invited. The Journal considers original research articles, review articles, cases studies, legislation and policy analyses, book reviews, and other scholarly articles relating to policy matters within the scope of the Journal.

MANUSCRIPT PREPARATION

Language

All manuscripts should be written in clear, scholarly English and should show appropriate use of language, coherent arguments, correct grammar, and scholarly writing style.

Manuscript Structure

Authors should ordinarily prepare manuscripts using the following structure:

  1. Title of the Article
    ii. Author Name(s), Institutional Affiliation(s), and Email Address(es)
    iii. Abstract (150–250 words)
    iv. Keywords (4–6 keywords)
    v. Introduction
    vi. Methodology
    vii. Analysis and Discussion
    viii. Conclusion and Recommendations
    ix. References/Bibliography

The structure may be modified where appropriate to accommodate the nature and methodology of a particular manuscript, including doctrinal legal research, comparative legal research, empirical socio-legal research, case analysis, or interdisciplinary research.

FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS

Authors must comply with the following formatting requirements:

  1. Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx).
    ii. Font: Book Antiqua
    iii. Font size: 12 pt.
    iv. Line spacing: 1.0.
    v. Margins: 1 inch on all sides.
    vi. Page numbers must be included.
    vii. Headings and subheadings must be clearly distinguished and consistently formatted.
    viii. The manuscript must be carefully proofread before submission to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

REFERENCING STYLE

The Afro-Asian Journal of Law and Governance accept manuscripts using recognised legal and academic citation styles, including:

  1. Chicago Notes and Bibliography Style

It is the responsibility of the authors to ensure that the citation style chosen is consistently used in the entire manuscript. All the sources cited in the text should be listed in the footnotes and/or the bibliography according to the chosen citation style.
