The Africa Journal of Health and Environmental Law (AJHEL) is committed to increasing the visibility, discoverability and accessibility of high-quality scholarship on health law, environmental law, public health, human rights, environmental justice, governance and sustainable development in Africa.
The Journal seeks inclusion in reputable scholarly databases, abstracting services, indexing platforms and research-discovery systems that are relevant to its disciplinary and geographical focus.

AJHEL seeks to make its published articles discoverable through Google Scholar, allowing researchers to locate, cite and track relevant scholarly publications.
AJHEL may register article metadata and Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) through Crossref or another appropriate DOI registration agency.
DOIs provide persistent identification and improve citation and metadata discoverability.
AJHEL may seek inclusion and metadata discoverability through OpenAlex, an open scholarly research-information infrastructure.
AJHEL intends to pursue eligibility for inclusion in DOAJ, subject to satisfying its applicable requirements for Open Access journals.
Given AJHEL's African focus, the Journal intends to pursue inclusion in African Journals Online (AJOL), subject to the platform's eligibility and evaluation requirements.
AJHEL may pursue inclusion in relevant EBSCO databases where the Journal meets the applicable selection requirements.
The Journal may pursue inclusion in relevant ProQuest databases and services where eligible.
Because AJHEL publishes legal scholarship, the Journal may pursue inclusion in relevant HeinOnline collections where eligible.
AJHEL may pursue evaluation for inclusion in Scopus when the Journal meets the applicable editorial, technical, publication and quality requirements.
AJHEL may pursue evaluation for inclusion in relevant Web of Science indexes when it satisfies the applicable selection criteria.
AJHEL distinguishes clearly between different stages of indexing and discoverability.
This means that the Journal has been formally accepted and included in the relevant database or indexing service.
