Errata and Corrigendum

The Africa Digital Governance and Law Review (ADGLR) reserves the right to retract, withdraw, correct, or issue an expression of concern in relation to submitted or published articles where substantial ethical, legal, academic, technological, or scholarly concerns arise.

Grounds for Retraction

Retraction may be considered where there is credible evidence of:

  1. Duplicate or redundant publication;
  2. Falsified data, evidence, research results, digital information, datasets, or any other research material;
  3. Serious breaches of research or publication ethics;
  4. Authorship disputes of a serious nature;
  5. Fraudulent, tampered with or manipulated peer review processes;
  6. Research results which have been proven to be substantially unreliable;
  7. Serious abuse of artificial intelligence, digital technology, software, datasets, or other technological means; or
  8. Other serious cases of academic, research or publication misconduct.

Withdrawal of Manuscripts

Author(s) can request the withdrawal of the submitted manuscript before acceptance with a written request and relevant justification to the Editorial Office. Alternatively, the Journal can withdraw the manuscript during the editorial and peer review process in case of serious ethical, legal, authorship, academic, or research integrity issues. Upon acceptance or publication of a manuscript, the request for withdrawal will be subject to additional consideration.

Corrections and Errata

Corrections for minor inaccuracies that do not impact the validity, interpretation, accuracy, or scholarly contribution of the published paper may be made using a correction notice or an erratum. When such corrections need to be made, the Journal shall take all the necessary steps in order to guarantee that the correction will be clearly indicated, adequately linked to the original publication, and made available.

 

Retraction Notices

Retraction notices should include:

  1. Identification of the affected paper;
  2. Reason for retraction;
  3. Permanently link the notice of retraction to the retracted paper;
  4. Distinctive distinction between the notice of retraction and the original paper; and
  5. Integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scholarly record.

The Journal will handle all corrections, expressions of concern, withdrawals, and retractions according to international standards for responsible scholarly publishing
